“Initially I found this ‘high school’ record from where I grew up, it had all these weird textures in it and weird vocal treatments and there was something really atmospheric about it and I just gravitated towards it. I kinda built a beat around it inspired by some dub-step, a bit of electro, a bit of drum ‘n’ bass, but at the same time I wanted to make something completely different from all three.”
